We flew in on 22nd July to take part in the wedding of Simon, our eldest son, and Lisa his childhood sweetheart. After a flight delay and with the help of Simon collecting us from the airport we arrived just in time for the wedding rehearsal at Tarvin Church. This was a time of tears and laughter particularly when Lisas Mother admitted trimming the church trees so they would not drip on the bride and groom and their guests if it dared to rain on their wedding day. We then treated everyone to a very tasty Afternoon Tea at The Gunnerys in Tarvin. 

On Friday we had a lovely surprise visit from Lisa and Simon in the morning. Later Simon came back on his own, ready to spend the remainder of the day at home with us. His sister, Amy, arrived to keep him company and in the early evening his brother Keith (Best Man!) and Jess, his girlfriend, arrived and we all went for a meal at The Slow Boat in Chester.

Have a look at VisitEnglands Winter 2010 issue of their 'Quality Edge' magazine and read the feature about the recent refurbishment of 4* Gold Wharton Lock Apartment. On page 46 of the magazine the article describes some of the changes and improvement made by us and shows before and after photographs of the new Granite kitchen!

In the article Sandra is quoted as saying “We aim to offer a luxury alternative to the hotels and guest houses in the city.” In April 2009 we became the first and only Gold graded self catering property in the City of Chester, an honour that has been awarded recently to us for the second time.
